2nd Graders Practice Locomotor Skills
Mrs. Phillips’ 2nd grade Physical Education students are currently in their Locomotor Skills unit. Locomotor skills are all the different ways we move our bodies, such as walking, running, jumping, galloping, skipping, and so on. These are essential skills for daily living and are benchmarks on the Ohio Physical Education Assessment that are expected of all 2nd graders.
During this unit, students have participated in locomotor skills review, including games and relays that promote skill improvement. Mrs. Phillips expressed that students love the many games played that involve locomotor movement. Mrs. Phillips concluded by adding, “As a whole, the 2nd graders at Northwood are excellent listeners and direction followers!”
